What to Look for in an Office Chair

Before buying your desk chair, keep in mind that a good desk chair is very much like a competent office assistant. It should offer good support the whole day, that you can’t even notice it. A comfortable desk chair allows you to do your much easier, and go through your tasks without getting into your way. Below are some essential features of a good desk chair.

Adjustable Height

Your desk or office chair should fit to your own height. Your thighs should be parallel with the floor. Normally, these chairs have pneumatic to lower or bring the seat up so you can seat comfortably.

Adjustable Backrests

If you’re buying an office chair with the backrest attached directly to the seat, choose the one that you can move the backrest forward or backward. It should also have a good locking mechanism that keeps it in place so it doesn’t unexpectedly tilt backwards.

If the backrest is separated (or detached) from the seat, it should also be able to adjust the height and be able to tilt so you can sit comfortably well.

Lumbar Support

The lumbar support system in a desk chair helps you sit more comfortably. You may want to choose an office chair that matches your natural spine contour. Your lower back must be supported in a way that your back is slightly arched while sitting, you shouldn’t slump towards the end of the day. It is best that you test the office chair before buying it. Your back should be comfortably resting against the office chair you’re buying.
